A New Home

It's my first night in my own home in South Africa.  Not a lot of stuff in the house, but a very nice house with a beautiful garden.  My housemate will move in tomorrow and bring some stuff!
But tonight I took the opportunity to stay here in the quietness and enjoy the presence of the Lord.  The neighbors have come to meet me already and they are very sweet.  I'm sitting on the back patio, just finished a skype with my oldest daughter and grandbabies, listening to the sounds of Africa.  Facinating for this North American.
The Lord has truly blessed me in this place.  I'm learning a great deal about the people and the varied cultures of this nation.  My housemate is a wealth of information and we have had time to get to know each other this last week as we shared her little cottage while waiting for the house to become open to us.
My week has been pretty quiet allowing time alone with the Lord, time at Joy Centre, time at camp Sizanani, a bit of shopping and a little bit of visiting.  I've been promised next week will be busier and I will begin to get into the flow of things.  In the mean time, I am enjoying much time with the Lord and being in His Word.
The word for me this week has been, Remember it is, "Christ in you..."  When we get comfortable in our place, it is often easy to forget that we are one with Christ Jesus, that the same power that raised Him from the dead, lives in us and we have a responsiblity to a lost and dying world, it is Christ in us that can touch  lives. How else can we go and preach the Kingdom, cleanse the leper, heal the sick, raise the dead and cast out demons?  Truly, we have received freely, freely we must give.
Blessings from South Africa!
